I've finally managed to convince myself to part with the money for a brand you 206cc and i was wondering what help and advice you would give to an extreme newbie for after they pickup the car???

Floor it and make sure it goes nice & fast

apart from the usual go over the paint work and make sure there are no scratches, check alloys and interior for the same. And makin sure the roof works.

get the hose out and make sure the roof seals dont leak by saturating the roof with water.....driving forward and brakin quite harshly..... if ur right arm stays dry then ur fine

Also try adjusting the seats, make sure they move freely and dont get stuck

Make sure you check the roof, operate it a few times to be sure.

Check for scratches on the seats if you have leather and as Erm says check those alloys carefully and insist on replacements if any are marked/chipped.
