What an eye opening thread ! I haven't met a person yet who doesn't like the TT (except jealous scooby drivers :) ), and with the 18"'s it looks stunning. The coils didn't just pop in the cold wither - they pop all year round (my colleague needed his 6th before they offered him a replacement vehicle). As for the S2000, beautiful car - read some stuff on the early ones and was a little (only a little !) put off, they're relatively (note the word relatively !) cheap too. One thing I have noticed though, there are alot of women driving them (sound familiar ?!) Oh to be a bachelor....

Get the TT, only thing is you feel really low down driving them as the windows are quite small and nearly came up to my shoulder before there was glass!..... That doesn't make sense but I kno0w what I mean!
Also there are lots of little things in the TT that are just finished off really nice!

Get a TT and you'll regret it!!!!!!!

Go for the S2000, its such a head turner cause there arent many around and the bodykits u can get for em are yummmmmmy!!!!

how many TTs do u see around compared to S2000s? TT is common hunk of junk that is a wannabe beetle with about as much personality as a breeze block

Go Jap!!!!! they wont let ya down!!!!!!

I know it's not a convertible, but I'm going to try to persuade the missus to go for a Mazda RX-8 next (if we ever have enough money  )

It's even available with a red 'n' black leather interior 8)

Couldn't you stretch to a Boxster? It's a much better car than the TT (for a start, it doesn't have that poxy 1.8T lump in it, and doesn't generate shed loads of lift at high speed).

the S2000 is a great car for performance and looks, but lacking in the luxury.

I suppose it comes down to what you want.

there's only one boxster to get, and that's the 'S' - not quite in the same bracket though. I liked the look of the RX-8, man those doors are weird though.

You're right -- the Boxster S is a lot better, but a lot more money. Even the basic Boxster is better than the 225bhp TT though. Possibly not as good as the 3.2V6 TT, but that's not out yet IIRC.

Remember that Evo rated the 2.7 Boxster (i.e. what was the base model at the time) as the finest handling car to drive.

Whichever GERMAN car you decide on make sure you get the optional indicators fitted. Most german car drivers never seem to bother with them which is really annoying as you never know where they are going next!!!

P.S. I'm 41 on Monday (hint to everybody!!!) and even I think the beamer is a tad middle aged!!!
