After much consideration and scrimping and saving, I can afford to get some new ICE in my lovely CC.

I'm going to a place on Thursday to check out what I can get and do a deal etc. At first, I'm just gonna fit front and rear speakers, an amp and a sub. I'll get this out of the way first and see what its like with the clarion HU. I can always add an new HU later but this way I get good sound faster and I might even find I don't need a new HU (which would of course save swapping the changer as well).

The thing is, is there anything I need to know such as:

1. Will I have to enter the radio code after installation as I believe they will probably fit the subs power to the battery?

2. With the mulitplex, do I need to warn them of anything?

3. Will they need to take out the back seats and, if so, would they know how to? How common is the procedure that they would have done it before? I mean, do a lot of CC's get done do you reckon?

This is the kind of stuff I'm worried about and obviously I don't want my baby broken in any way.

Can anyone help with these questions and maybe even highlight some other things I'll need to know?

Thanks guys :D

Nice one!
1. Will I have to enter the radio code after installation as I believe they will probably fit the subs power to the battery?
I doubt it - I think with the multiplex models that the radio knows the VIN number of the car and asks the ECU for tihs when it powers up, therefore it will only work in your car. May be worth double-checking this with Peugeot though.
2. With the mulitplex, do I need to warn them of anything?
Not if you're keeping the existing head unit.
3. Will they need to take out the back seats and, if so, would they know how to? How common is the procedure that they would have done it before? I mean, do a lot of CC's get done do you reckon?
More than likely (to run any wires to the back and to get to the back speakers), but it's dead easy. Remove two bolts (one under each seat in the back) and the bench will pull out. If they need to remove the backs of the seats, there's another bolt for each one which is obvious once the bench is out.

Other stuff you may need to tell them is best place to run the power wire for the amp (see previous posts in ICE section - best place is through the grommet behind the glove box), and of course make sure that they know to fit the sub UNDER the pull-out blind in the boot!

Thanks Matt. I thought the main concern with that stuff would come when the HU is changed as speakers aren't don't do anything other than receive signals. Best to be safe than sorry :D

Will let them know about the back seat and the glove box.

Thanks again.

No idea if they'd get it done in a day... I did it myself and it took me a couple of months ;)

Are they aware that most sub boxes won't fit in the boot? Are they planning to build a custom box?

Ah, haven't been there yet. Was going to go in on Thursday, see what they have and could do for me. If I like what I see, will book it in for as soon as possible.

Now the sun is starting to come out, I need to get some phat sounds in there and not worry about little things like lexus lghts and sports grilles. they can wait.
