I have already ordered it online - got it almost 400 quid cheaper!
On a side note:
There seems to be quite a lack of info about the unit on the web. You know what it's like when you want to read about everything - but one thing I do have is the Sony brochure. On that, it says there's 1 'Sub out'. Does this mean I shouldn't really need the extra amp these kind people (who it sounds like they saw me coming now) want to put in along with the sub?

i managed to get my peugeot stalk working with the sony
i had to take it out, and connect the contacts of the buttons i wanted on the sony wired remote to the peugeot stalk
just 4 of them
track up/down
and volume up/down
so now the sony wired remote is connected to the contacts on the peugeot stalk
it's pretty easy to do if you know how to use a soldering iron

You know what? I've had to change my mind about it - got to call the company that sold me it this morning to stop them shipping it to me.
The reason is - after some careful reading I realise it won't let me rip straight off a data CD-R/RW filled with mp3s - it only allows that via a normal CD, or using their 128MB MagicGate Memory Sticks.
The fact that my entire CD collection is packed away in individual boxes, within other individual boxes right now, and that I have them all nicely stored as MP3s on this computer makes it a ludicrous choice because I'd either have to go through mountains of boxes here and unpack the bloody things, or burn the MP3s back onto AUDIO cds in order to rip them onto the unit. (which would take longer than the amount of patience I have.)
It's amazingly stupid how Sony have implemented their CD ripping on that thing... can't believe I didn't realise it earlier. I think they must have been pussy footing around Sony Music.
So instead, I'm going for a (considerably cheaper!) CDX-MP70 with a 6 disk MP3 changer, so effectively giving me 5 or so GB of storage with no faffing about!
I'm sure you love yours Erm, but you can't have a humungous MP3 collection like me or would have mentioned this shortcoming I'm sure!

I think it's got an FM modulator, in which case you just tune your HU into it.
