As the Survey post is likely (hopefully) to get a bit full, I've started this topic so people can discuss the survey without their posts getting mixed up with the survey posts.
This should hopefully make both topics easier to read.
To address the point Col made in the survey topic, the data we're collecting is to be used primarily to demonstrate problems with Peugeot themselves. It may also highlight problems with their dealer network as a whole but you'll notice on reading the questionnaire that nowhere does it ask for the name of your dealer. I hope this makes the intention clearer.
Justin, what a great idea. Because it seems such an important issue, the most important dealt with so far, (Rob, Lyndon,Julia) is there a way of keeping the post top of the discussion agenda for a while to ensure it doesn't slip down and get overlooked by members?
Maybe members who haven't replied could also be reminded in due course by PM. I suppose you could even organise a follow up survey like autoexpress.
If watchdog etc do grill Peugeot HQ on telly about all these factory related faults, then I'll buy two copies of the video please.
I can assure you the final results will be presented to Peugeot Australia.
Looking forward to the results. It will be interesting to see what the final sample size is. Does anyone have any idea of how many CC's are out there? The argument that may be put forward is that it is not statistically correct. Mind you the probability of so many people randomly coming together with the same problems would make an interesting debate
I think an independent survey among cc owners are a great idea especially for potential buyers. It is hard trying to get a straight answer from dealers. Hope the results will be placed on the website bulletin once it is thru.

Thanks for your comments folks, the intention is to make the data publicly available along with "our interpretation" of it.
We're encouraging as many people to complete the survey as possible because we also want to find out what proportion of the sample do not suffer from problems. Those are the hardest people to find 'cos they're arguably less likely to post their good experiences than the rest of us are to post our bad ones.
Any statisticians out their are more than welcome to analyse the data once it's all in and provide their own conclusions. That should help prove we're unbiased - you know what they say about there being lies, damn lies and statistics
I've just changed the "number of miles travelleled" question on the survey to read "distance travelled" and there's now seperate spaces for Miles and Kilometres.
Thanks to Denmark for spotting my accidental anti-Europeanism
Justin, in the "Major Concerns" post Rachel said she had stats experience. It would be definitely be worth getting her (or someone with similar) to look at the results when they're ready cos you need a certain number of people for any given result for it to be considered a "real" result and not just by chance. This will add to the weight of your arguments (although I'm not convinced Peugeot would have any idea about stats either!!).
Yep, that's a great idea Matt, it's a few years since I did any stats and it's never been my best subject
It'd be great if we could get a sample size of around 100 - there are 241 registered forum users so you never know.
-Justin.
Lyndon, perhaps you could put some kind of a banner on the News page asking all members to complete the survey. And possibly also something along the lines of encouraging any CC owners that visit this site but aren't members to register and complete it. I'm sure there would be plenty of these people, and they may be more the ones without problems, thus eliminating some of the unavoidable bias from a BBS survey.
You might also consider whether it's worth putting the survey as a separate forum (if this can be done now that it's already started). It might make it more visible than being tucked away in "Discussion".
Yep, I've got no problem producing an excel spreadsheet but it should probably be in addition to the forum - the more opportunities we provide for people to give us this information the better.
The data will obviously be collated into the same spreadsheet regardless of what method was used to collect it.
