Mpg figures anyone??

Hi all, summers comin at last...can any of you guys out there share some info with me. We have had a 2litre cc for about four months now and even under very gentle driving we struggle to get the mpg figure above 30. Is it a true reading ? what sort of figures do you all get, I would welcome your replys. Drive carefully. Woody

i do a 50/50 mix between a/b road and motorway driving and on average i get 32.5mpg from my CC SE.

motorway driving is normally at between 80-110mph depending on how late i am for work :rolleyes: but normally keep it at 80-85mph.

using shell optimax gave me a gain of less than 1mpg so i wouldn't really recommend it but 30mph doesn't sound right.

I get about 30 mpg from me 1.6!

Maybe time i gave up my 'lead foot leroy' antics and see if i can up it a little?

Nah! bugger that! think i'll just have to cut back on other things to help pay my fuel bill

Actually, am i bit worried since i dont tend to go much above 120 so surely i should be returning better mpg? I think it is where the missus takes it to work - labours the enging up hills in 3rd at about 1200 revs

My 1.6 gives an average of 44.1 mpg, however I travel on backroads to work and generally get stuck behind something doing around 55mph!

So drive like a granny and you get really good consumption.... doesn't really fit the image though!

I drive country roads to work....

BAN ALL TRACTORS during 8-9 in the morning and 5-6 at night!!!

and I am sorry to say it, but horse boxes as well!!!!

Has that gone down now that you've actually cleaned it? Less wind resistance and all that!

I've been told that having the aircon on can effect the fuel consumption, and seeing as the car always defaults to this setting and I can't de-mist the front screen unless the aircon is on (can anyone answer why this so?), I guess I'll never get an optimum MPG. I currently get around 30MPG driving around town and country lanes, don't do a lot of motorway driving.

getting 29mpg at moment.. but there are loads of road works ... when they finnish i expect to be back up to 33mpg .... i live 5 miles from work and stay in 30mph zones .. err oh and a 20 mph now

Incidently .. was getting like 26/27mpg when i first got it until they updated software.

1st 1000 miles was only 29 mpg 2nd 1000 is it about 31mpg.
We have a 2000cc and thats a mix of town and A road driving.
No good but dont really care to much so long as it stays above 30.

getting 37.5 now with motorway driving heh ..... no one spotted me on the m62 .. and ive driven itmany times from start to finnish
