My quest is over..... if is a fruitless search

I have tried for months to find a supplier who could convert my dash to look like the VW dash, with the blue numbers at night and no-one seems to be able to do a black / white faced dial with clear / blue numbers

Tried lockwood and they said

I'm sorry but we don't have anything close to the VW instrumentation for the reasons explained earlier. The white, silver, cream and yellow dials have black digits which illuminate orange at night, and the blue, red and green dials have white digits which illuminate white at night.

So maybe I will just have to live with the orange colour......

:( :( :(

Unless anyone knows different

I'm sorry, but that doesn't explain it at all. Why can't the white dial illuminate blue at night? Even on their website they claim "We can design dials according to your specifications and incorporate logos, colours and type styles of your choice to satisfy your individual styling requirements."

:?: :?: :?:

Have tried upteen times to get an answer to this but they say it can't be done...mainly due to the lack of demand!!!

So lets all get onto Lockwood and request white dials which illuminate blue at night!!

Cannot believe there is no demand

I think I remember them saying it would cost loads to get a bespoke dial done so I think our best option is to get a group order and then ask for say 20 to be made up.

Will enquire now, anyone interested?

Try MJ Designs who will make you some custom dials. Edit: Doh! The bloke who did the dials has left. His own web page is at http://www.skewer.co.uk so send him an e-mail.

Should be pretty easy really -- you want the 'numbers' to be clear/white, then you either replace the dashboard lights with blue LEDs or get some of little blue rubber booties to go over the white bulbs.

Blue LEDs available from Gecko Motorsport
