Major Concerns

All,

After reading Rob's post and a few other's I would be lying if i did'nt say I was concerned. I have been kept waiting exceedingly long by peugeot and have the legal right to cancel my order if I wish. Therefore I need some honest opinions off you guys what to do. I admit, that everytime I see a CC my heart races and I think to myself "what a car!!"

However is this worth all the hassles of leaks etc. i know that you have said people only write in about complaints and that some are a one off but then i look at Rob and he has had 2 lemons which is surely a bad hit rate.

What should I do, keep or cancel

Hello,

I got my CC in November last year and am taking it in for its first service tomorrow, I havent had one singular problem with it......tempting fate!!

I would stick with your order, its a lovely car and I guess its really the luck of the drawer. You may be lucky like me!

NO dont cancel your order. I have had 2 ccs now and I love them to bits. I still get a thrill each morning when I get the car out of the garage and even more so if its a nice day and I can get the roof down. you wont get that on any other car of the same value. Dont forget you have the security of a hard roof to consider as, well Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't ask! i was due to have it on March 1st and the monkeys realised too late that they had ordered it left hand drive !!!. Therefore a brand new one has to be built. I am now faced with the choice of either waiting till the end of April for it or they have another one in stock which I can have at the end of this month but it has different interior. I originally ordered Agean blue with mirage blue cloth but the one they have is Agean blue with pebble grey cloth.

I 'm still making my mind up but I don't think waiting the extra month is worth the blue as the grey looked half decent also

I've had mine almost five months and done 8,000 miles without any leaks. It's starting to squeak a bit at the roof joins but a squirt of rubber lubricant (available in any Anne Summers store) on a cloth puts paid to that for a few weeks.

Having said that mine's in at the garage today to get an estimate on getting a dent removed/panel replaced after some kind soul forgot to stop after denting it in a car park last week. Hardly the car's fault though.

Marco, your right, especially with Rob's experience, seems more akin to 16K-17K's worth of russian roulette to me - when you get your car I'd save that bullet for the monkeys.

good point Ni 'cc' k. Incidently does anyone know of any websites with good pics of the agean blue with the grey interior, so i can have a look for myself?

Like many others, i had a niggling doubt about the problems. And when the car came i expected it to leak and it did!! But because of this expectancy, i didn't get as p***ed off as when our alfa leaked. At times i wish i never got it, but when the sun is out you'll realise that its all worth while. And even if you sell after a year, the car won't depreciate that much. What the hell just go for it.

I went to motorhouse 2000 in cannock last sunday. They had agean blue with the blue interior in stock. Thay are imported but they're a bit cheaper. If I was you i'd consider cancelling your order and going to motorhouse.

i would stick with your order. 3 weeks ago i had a choice of walking out of the dealership with a cheque for over Â£17000 or a replacement CC - i took the replacement.

Mine leaked a bit when I braked but either I bedded the seals in by putting the roof up/down - or the silicon grease I applied really did the trick. I feel really sorry for Rob and co... that's real p!ss poor bad luck, eh? I love mine to bits and I wouldn't swap it for anything other than a Porch (double glazed with wellies in). Good luck, but the choice is yours... Pauline

I'm in the same boat as you. I read all of the horror stories on here and wonder what on earth made me order a 206cc.....then I recall all the good things I've read on here.....remember my test drive with the roof down (try to forget it was hailing at the time).....and read all of the bumf I've got and once again I fall in love. I'm quite lucky that my Pug dealer is (hopefully) able to let me have my new baby on Good Friday and I only ordered it last weekend so I'm being spared the agonising wait that so many have experienced!

My advice is let your heart rule your head...I am!!!!

My leak seems to have fixed itself.
No dodgy Peugeot chap has got there hands on it yet. The rubber on the rear pasanger side where the roof opens was raised by the one on the other side as it did not sit nicely (Peugeot mechanic said it is nothing to do with the external seals!) but after a bit of fiddling and putting the roof up and down in normal usage(15 or so times a day - that is normal isn't it, I'm not turning into a roofaholic am I, You can tell me I can take it) The two rubber bits now sit next to each other, not ontop as they probably should as the ends of them a thinner than the rest. But better than the thin part overriding the normal part. Now the two thin bits sit just touching, good old British weather has provided lots of test oppertunities over the last week, and it passed. Nolonger a soggy back seat.
