some of the downloads on the above site are infected with a w95.cih (i think) virus, just by clicking on a link to a programme means you may become infected, Nortons picked it up straight away but you have been warned

motorway services are always more expensive for two reasons ....

1. they normally have high operating costs (complete complex)

2. they rely on drivers needing petrol and not knowing the area well enough to leave the motorway to look for cheaper fuel

i am slighly p****d off with the 76.9p as like emma's it has went up 3p in a week, 1p then 2p.

i was on my way home on thursday with the astra and passed a shell pfs that i often use at 74.9 then got to the jet pfs near my home and is often last to put it's prices up and saw 76.9

filled up anyway and as i thought everyone else would be up as i noticed a few others at 76.9 i filled my CC up the same night at 76.9.

now today, there are still ones at 74.9 and when in edinburgh yesterday there were some at 73.9

being quite sad I actually monitor my fuel consumption (spreadsheets) and believe that you get better MPG from Esso.
But who cares when you get a much more responsive drive from BP/Shell? Even my mum noticed the difference when i finally convinced her to stop using supermarket fuel

You sad man!!

:D Actually, I do the same but in an access database of expenses

Takes my miles done since last fill up, how much I spent on the refill and how much I put in then tells me my mpg and how much it cost me per mile

Your both sad.

My spread sheet done over the last 14K miles gives MPG and litres per 100k.
Worst tank full 23mpg, best tank full 41mpg, it is usually arround 27mpg tho'.
I cant understand why its so poor, I am doing all the right things like keeping the revs at the optimum, just at that little red mark.

Why bother with spreadsheets - just use the cc's trip computer

It may be sad but it has saved me money. I once used the figures to prove to a dealer that one of my cars had a fault and was suing toooo much fuel.

I showed them the figures for the car from the day I owned it and they agreed to investigate - petrol consumption fixed and no repair bill for me.

If thats sad then I am happy to be sad 8)
Out of interest, what figures were you getting pre and post fix, and what was the problem?

In the meantime, do what I do, avoid the big companies ie Shell, Esso, BP and use the smaller ones. If everyone in the country did it, prices would be forced down sooner than you think...
Around here Shell is definitely the cheapest garage. At the moment the nearest prices for me are:
Shell - 74.9 (Autogas 28.9)
Esso - 77.9
Total - 78.9
