Ok folks - things are starting to be locked on here due to abuse. Let people sell there stuff and use the flaming section.

thats all well and good but genuine buyers get put off when there is extra stuff in a post.
Dont get me wrong - I found it funny, we just need to keep the for sale section just as that.
Now go away and flame me in the flaming section

i don't see the big deal
:
the original post details the product for sale then it's either followed by questions on the item or comments.
if the later posts put people off then it's probably in most cases for good reason.
i say open the posts unless a member specifically asks for it to be locked.
non moderator rant over

Exunctly!
What, for example, if some naive young wipper snapper sees an advert for someone selling pepperpot or even 3 spoke alloys for the cc, and buys them because we weren't able to advise them accordingly?
How
will they be when they turn up at a meet and everyone says "i wanted to warn you about buying those things but i wasn't allowed!"

I think you may have pinpointed one of the short comings of locking..ppl will still be able to comment on for sale post but they will do it an a different part of the forum...just include a link....if moderators just got strict occatioanlly cut the more inapproprate posts ppl may be a bit more sensible

genuine questions in for sale section are GOOD. I just locked one that was being abused.
SOME people were taking the piss, you know who you are
add something in the flaming section if you need. Then put a link in the for sale item to the flaming bit. That way people can get the main info they need. If they want to see peoples comments and jokes they they can go to the link...........
