fitting a clarion cd changer

The CD changer from peugoet,can I fit it myself? Are the cables already laid to the boot ? Or is that wishful thinking ?

Im kinda weird .. it annoys me that my cd player has a multi changer button i cannot use, ahem

It's quite easy to run the wire to be honest, you just have to be a little brave and pull the carpet up (it's just clipped down) and also remove the back seat bench (two bolts). Also, of course, you need to remove the radio which could be a bit more tricky unless you have the correct tool (four mini screwdrivers did the job nicely for me!!!)

lol, no be brave - it's fun! Plus it's a great achievement when it's finished, knowing you did the whole lot yourself!

The Clarion autochanger that works with the RD3 / RB3 headunits (and also the RD1/RD2/RB1/RB2 fitted to other pugs) is a unique model number PU-2293A or sometimes known as 96-333-549-80.
As for the cable, it appears some cars do have them pre-fitted, others don't. Easiest way to tell is to see if the radio has the cable plugged in to it, and then if it does try and find the other end - usually behind the left hand boot panel lining. Even if you do get one, have a cable and plug it in, it won't work until you get the BSI / Radio 'enabled' to allow it to talk to the autochanger - another trip to the dealership.

There a quite a few of the above selling on Ebay for Â£80-120 quid, so its not worth paying Peugeot Â£300 odd for the same thing is it?
