thanks chaps
They have stamped the book but the stamp only gives the name of the dealer and has no lion stamp or even a telephone number on it which makes it look bogus. Also they didn't write down the mileage or date until I hassled them about it. Just 'cos I want to moan - also the service spanner is still glowing nicely (they said it wouldn't be) and they ''didn't have time'' to look at the windscreen which has a big airbubble blob type thing right in my line of sight. - end of moan :x

all they need to do is stamp the book and complete it properly.
you can't exactly expect a receipt for something you haven't paid for - the stamp is confirmation that the service has been carried out.

remember it's only like a check-up and not an actual service - thats why it only takes 30 mins

The service book should come with the car. It should have been stamped by the dealer when the car was delivered to you. Or are you talking about something else?

Well that's interesting. They're meant to come with the car itself.
