:( Whilst parking my cc today I heard the stomach churning scrape of a kerbed alloy. I got out and inspected the damage - a small scuff to the alloy 'skin' on the drivers wheel about 15mm long.
when I enquired as to a repair at local centre I was told I would be without the car for 2 days unless I bought a spare from PUG cost £85.47 & VAT & tyre. Does two days seem a long time for a surface repair ? does anyone know any repair centres in the Cardiff area? what is involved in this repair ?

Crikey!
To me that sounds like they are making a mountain out of a mole hill!
There is someone here called "wheel repair it" who does this kinda thing for a job so once he logs on I am sure he will tell you.
Shame you werent more local as we are meeting in Essex on the 26th and he will be repairing alloys there!

:D Thanks for your suggestions - Will give renowheel a shout tomorrow. At least I know what I should be asking for now - and roughly how long it should take

Wheel repair it - how much are your services? i think my alloys are all still shiny immaculate but the wife does drive it too - i thought about buying some steelies so that she could drive in relative safety but am not sure how to approach the subject!

Actually, now i think about it, im sure i heard the mechanic kerb it today after he road tested it - sodding monkeys fitted a new wheel bearing and we guess they didnt tighten the calliper properly so now every time i apply the brakes - CLANK!!!!!
