Im not sure if the CC has ESP, but it does have EBD. I think it stands for (Electronic braking Distribution) or something like that. I believe it is a upgraded ABS system with more sensors, but if you have a 206 with ABS then you have EBD also. It works very well as I dicovered yesterday when I was overtaking someone and they decided to pull out! I was doing err 70mph on not the best road in the world and yet the car stopped in a perfectly straight line. Thanks Peugeot.

It works in conjunction with the ABS. ABS on its own just removes brake pressure from any wheel about to lock. EBD makes sure that that excess pressure is redistributed to the other wheels which aren't locking.

In conjunction, they basically make sure that as much of the braking force is in use as possible, without locking any of the wheels.

The Highway Code states that hazard lights should only be used when the vehicle is stationary, and only to warn other road users of a hazard.

This means that they should NOT be used when the vehicle is in motion, despite the modern craze of sticking them on just because you're driving too fast (and too close to cars in front) and you think everyone else is as inattentive as you.

Exactly!

Another thing is lazy buggers who beep their horn outside somebody's house. How hard is it to walk 10 feet to somebody's door? Not just lazy but also illegal*.

I really, really wish I had a badge and/or a blue light sometimes, I really do.

* I remember a story about someone beeping their horn outside the examiner's house or office. Examiner came out, gave them the failure slip and went back inside. Dunno how true it is

Hazard warning lights. These may be used when your vehicle is stationary, to warn that it is temporarily obstructing traffic. Never use them as an excuse for dangerous or illegal parking. You MUST NOT use hazard warning lights whilst driving unless you are on a motorway or unrestricted dual carriageway and you need to warn drivers behind you of a hazard or obstruction ahead. Only use them for long enough to ensure that your warning has been observed.

Okey dokey. I still think these people would be better off concentrating on keeping a safe distance rather than slamming on and going for the hazard lights.

I would personally have kept the original rule. What happens, for instance, if somebody's left or right indicator isn't working? The person behind assumes the car in front is changing lanes...
