Now I know why sometimes the auto air con is on when I start my car in the morning as I always turn in off after it's parked, it's because the OFF button actually is an ON button if you want to keep the previous setting. When the air con is off and you press OFF button it turns on again! With the previous setting!! Such a neat function if you knew!!

i guess it means if u turn it off in eco mode, it will still be in eco mode when you start the car next time.

no it doesnt.

When we got the first cars I used to note down what i had set and wehter Iturned it off and the the ignition etc.

There is meant to be a logic behind it but there isnt.

I am a systems analyst by trade and even I couldnt find a 100% pattern in the logic.

It has a mind of itsown some days - as I like to call it 'galic charm'.

Hi,

I agree with Rob... I remember this coming up in the old forum and we all agreed at that time that the air con didn't have a set pattern.

I too am I systems Analyst by trade so that makes two of us baffled.!!

Derek is right and it does work in my CC though, I don't think there is any difference in Hong Kong spec than UK. I've tried it many times and here's how:

1.Press AUTO, system in AUTO mode
2.Press A/C, system in ECO mode
3.Press OFF, system is OFF

Now let's say you want to start off in ECO mode, so normally you'd press AUTO and press A/C, but wait!!! You only have to press OFF and it'll start in ECO mode, and every time you press OFF it go back and forth in OFF and ECO mode while keeping all the previous settings like air flow too. This is especially useful during winter when you only want ECO mode. Sure they didn't mention this in the manual!! Try it!!

Its not an easy thing to explain, and I'm not sure it always works like that but I have noticed a similar pattern in my cc. I'll go and play in my car and try and explain better later, after all the sun is out

I've got an old spec 1.6, the air con system is a little easier to operate.

Alexls,

Don't think even Mr Spock could argue with that logic
