A lot of you seem to go for the Kenwood 959 amplifier which looks nice but I like to be a bit different. I'm maybe looking at the Kenwood KAC-PS650D. As a 5 channel amp, this gives 4x60W + 1x200W RMS. In addition, I'm looking at a pioneer TS-W1201DVC sub or Rockford Fosgate RFD2212 sub (the Pioneer is £40 cheaper, are they better than RF's???). Both of these have 500w RMS. Now, does that +1x200W mean power for the sub and, if so, does that mean I've still got 300W of power that the sub isn't using? I'm curious about the same thing for the other speakers too. If I fit some front and rear that do about 100W in the back and 200W in the front, does that mean I'm wasting power as the amp is 60W per channel??????????
I know very little about this stuff but want to get the best I can for my money without being swindled by some spotty chap who just wants to get as much money as he can out of me. Can anyone fill me in on all these figures etc???? Does what I've described sound like it would be a good setup? Obviously a good HU helps but I'm going to start at the back and work my way forwards if you get what I mean
Thanks in advance guys.
