just found this out on the PGAC forum .....
all modern fuel injected cars are now fitted with an engine cut off switch so as to prevent nasty fuels problems when in crashes. Apparently they can be rahter tempermental in pugs and have been known to activate when driving across pot holes or similar.
the effect is that all power / electricity is instanlty switched off very simialr to the effect that Julia descriped a while back.
so there you are ! I can be useful sometimes
Engine cut outs a possible explaination ...

engine cut of switches cut off the fuel supply HOWEVER
i doubt its that because the symtoms the cc's have it starts back up, with the engine cut off switch it needs resetting (from personal experience) this is simply pressing a button, which ir normally easily to get 2. but i aont to clused up with the cc engine yet so i am not sure.
