Water under my handbreak lever

Today (after 8 months and 17.000km) my CC finally had his leak. I went crazy ! My car was parked outside and after 10 hours of rain, when I tried to loosen my handbreak (going for a ride) my hand just bloomed in a litle pool. I raise me head straight up to the roof and I saw my new watery interior's light! I took out the light and its base and I saw the electical contacts rusty and the whole plastic sweat. Behind this light base exits the radio antenna hole but it didn't seem to leak ...
I'm desperate.... I can't find where the water comes from. Can anybody help ???

I had the same problem on a 106 with water coming in via the ariel and dripping through the interior light, took it straight back to the dealers and they re-sealed around the base of the ariel which cured the problem.

someone else on this forum has had the same problem. It was caused by a leaking Aerial.

Like Lyndon my 106Gti had a leak problem with water through the aerial mounting.

Peugeot sorted it free of charge but you'd be unpleasantly suprised at how much water got in.

its not a difficult thing to check behind the interior light for water. A flat blade screw driver pops the light of and then 2 visible finger catches allow the surround to be removed.

Removal - check - refit 2 minutes

I think I've now got this. Pool of water in the recess under the handbrake and drops of water on my brand new chrome gearshift surround. Saw a drop on the courtesy light.

I'm going to have a closer look tomorrow when it's light.

Had a look at the aerial this morning. It's quite loose and if you wiggle it you can get a significant gap between the mounting and the roof.

Temporary solution: I've stuck a couple of sheets of Bounty(TM) around the base of the aerial above the courtesy light until I get it to the monkeys

Bit more permanent solution. Popped the base of the aerial off to find an 8mm nut underneath. Tightened this (surprisingly loose!) so we'll see what happens.

Sorry to add to this two years later, but I've had exactly this problem and I'd really appreciate any advice.

Having sprung a leak under the aerial, I took the car to the local dealers and asked them to fix it. The chimps resealed the aerial but didn't mend the damage... so my interior/courtesy light no longer works.

I really don't want to take the car back in for such a trivial fix -- not only does it look pathetic, they'll probably try and charge me for a whole new unit when it really only needs a good clean.

Thing is, I can't get the light cover off. One user above mentions just popping it off with a screwdriver -- can someone explain exactly how this is done? Do I just put a flat blade under the bulb-cover on the right-hand side and twist, then remove the entire surround once I've done that? It sounds easy but I don't want to snap anything, so I'd appreciate some reassurance
