At that speed, 25mhz, Could that have been a Amstrad 286SX25 rather than a DX PCU? I thought the DX chips only really started from 66 mhz onwards.

Sorry to send people to sleep.

Ill try not to put my nerd hat on LOL
Ok,

if i remember correctly !!

The 286 went up to 16mhz. .. I think, maybe there where faster ones? 20mhz? dont remember a 25 though. There was no SX/DX variety of the 80286 cpu.

The 386SX had a 16bit BUS, the 386DX had a 32bit bus, or something like that !!!

The 486sx was the same as the 486DX but the latter had a maths co-processor on it, or rather it was enabled on it. Like todays cpu's they only make one then rate its speed and sell it as such :D

hmm, I started on a commodore 64, had a spectrum zx (the small one like a calculator, a spectrum 128k +2, then i moved onto consoles. THey went:
Nintendo, gameboy, super nintendo, playstation, dreamcast (x2), gameboy advance, gamecube.

Back to PC's and I started with a packard bell 400Mhz PC. After that, build all my own and now at home run my own network (for educational reasons). These include:
HP running NT4 with 160Mb RAM, PII.
another one that is a 1.8Ghz P4 with 1Gig RAM, 64Mb Graphics etc, win 2000
2Ghz Athlon with 1Gig DRAM, win 98
1.2Ghz Athlon with 1Gig RAM, win 2000 server
About 200Gb hard drive space across the whole network and a DSL internet connection.
