Hi all.
I'm thinking of getting a windstop fitted but need some info from people that have experience with them.
1. I realise I lose the back seats but do they actually strip the seats out or does the stop go over them?
2. Is the windstop removable? i.e. if they leave the seats in and I know I'm going on a journey where back seats would be useful, could I just take it out temporarily?
3. Most important (regardless of the frist 2, I could probably live without the back seats), does it actually help? Does the benefit outweigh the cost???
What do you guys think?

Got my windstop around April this year and wouldn't be without it now. To answer your queries:
1) The seats stay in and the w/s goes over them. It is very easy to fit.
2) It is completely removeable and fits nicely in the boot when not being used.
3) Having long hair, I find it helps alot with stopping the wind (oh-er!). It works even better if the side windows are also up.
Hope this helps.

To add to points 1 & 2, it takes about 30 seconds to fit. There are two prongs on the back that fit in two holes at the sides of the rear seatbelts (visible at the top). There are then two more prongs that extend sideways into the holes towards the front seats on the rear trim.
To add to point 3, it reduces the wind swirling in from behind. I find that I still get wind over the top of my head but I'm 6' tall. If you're under 6' then you'll probably get no wind at all.

Forgot to mention, there's a few pics on my site. You can't see the rear seats but they're still there - under the windstop

Yeah I'll add my bit - I've had my CC one month today, and got the Windstop. I keep it on almost all the time, becuase I rarely use the back seats. It's fairly easy to take on and off, though if you did use the back seats more often you might find it a pain refitting it all the time. It normally fits snugly in the boot, but its a bit tighter in mine becuase I got the 6 CD changer which just narrows the width that bit.
It definitely does cut the wind down in the cabin, and especially if you put the windows up (best for if you're on a motorway or sth). I don't always have it flipped up cos I like the wind blowing sometimes. It's very good for when you have a passenger though.

Thanks for all you replies. Alex, I did look at it on your site a while ago but couldn't remember where I saw it. I couldn't tell if the seats were still there though.
That easy to fit and take out? I don't use the back seats for passengers at all (although its only 6 weeks old). The only time I would use them is if I was going out and I knew I would be giving a couple of people a lift home but in that case I would take it out beforehand and just leave it at home. Its very rare that happens anyway (maybe once every couple of months at a push!)
How easy is it to put the stop in place? Is it just a matter of lifting the thing up when you put the roof down? Does it not ever fall back down what with the pressure (or am I the only one to drive slightly faster than I should
)
Anyway, all that considered, it sounds like I probably will invest in one. Anyone know of any good places in London or Berkshire or should I just go to a Peugeot dealer??
Thanks again guys

Ah, read Matt's post a bit late.
Just ordered my windstop from the Peugeot dealers in Maidenhead (just up the road from where I work) and it should be ready for me to collect on Friday, yay!!!!
Very excited. £209 inc. VAT, is that a good price? Also ordered a starter button and chrome door pins with LED's. Lovely.

Charters? That's my nearest one as well but it's in the middle of nowhere so I usually go into Uxbridge :p
£209 is the maximum you should pay - it's the list price ;-)

For anyone out there who hasn't got a windstop it is a must. If you buy nothing else extra ever for your CC this is the item to have. So easy to remove I often take it out and put it in the boot just to give people a lift home from the pub. I couldn' live without it now. It certainly makes a difference when driving down in the winter when the temp is only 2C!!

Why not? It hasn't been raining, has it?Well, I bought one last week and fitted it. Haven't had the chance to really test it yet though

No but I've had a cold since Christmas and my lungs aren't liking the cold air at the moment. Coughing and spluttering all over the place
Normally I'd risk it but I've had so many sleepless nights, I'm not taking my chances and just want to get over it. Soon though.............

Not being funny - each to their own and if people on here like the windstop then so be it..................
To add to point 3, it reduces the wind swirling in from behind. I find that I still get wind over the top of my head but I'm 6' tall. If you're under 6' then you'll probably get no wind at all.
................ However, it has to be said - if you dont want the open top experience then why not just buy the roland garos with glass roof? Motorways with the side windows up are perfectly comfortable without the windstop. Why spoil the styling offered as standard and complimented by other mods with something as 'value for money and attractive' as the windstop?
Just my personal opinion, like i said, those of you who want it, have it, i'm just trying to understand the reasoning behind it! (do you think that will be enough to save me from lots of nasty responses from any windstop owners i may have accidently offended?)
