From the BBC News website:
"The value of the cargo was put at £30m, though the cars would have fetched double that at retail prices, motor industry experts say. "
More evidence of 'rip off Britain'

Another bit:
"But he said it was likely the cars would probably have to be written off.

"She [the Tricolor] probably capsized when she went down. It means that all the cars are probably lying in pieces down there."

So if they weren't lying in pieces, it would be possible to 're-process' them. Even if they completely stripped the shells, I'm not sure I'd want a car that had been lying in salt water for a few days

I wonder how many people unknowingly have cars that have been in an accident like this?

fried of mine used to valet cars as they came off the ships in bristol ... they used to tear around the carpark in the sporty models and if the worte then off they get fined £10 !!!. He once took a porker around lost it on the corner and baled out to see it vanish into avonmouth docks ... they recovered the car. dried it out cleaned it up and sent it on it's way. !!!
