Hi all,

Went Christmas shopping in town (Basingstoke) on Thursday....

When I returned to my car, I found a note on the windscreen, with one word written on it....it said "Sorry".... hmmm I thought. So I had a quick look round the car and found nothing wrong with it, so I thought nothing more of it.

Taking my car out of the garage Friday morning, I spotted a dent in the front off-side wing ....yes I did swear...quite a bit...

Now - there's not much of a dent - just pushed in with a bumper by the looks of things, and one or two very tiny scratch marks.

So - can anybody give me some advice on how I go about getting this fixed? Would an insurance claim invalidate my NCB? Can anyone recommend somebody in the Basingstoke area that could fix it, and how much is it gonna cost me?

Thanks

Lee

your ncb would only not be affected if it was protected but your premium may still rise as you have made a claim.

you would also have your excess to pay. mines is £125 + £50 voluntary. if the damage isn't that bad then it would be silly to make a claim as it isn't likely to cost much more than your excess to fix anyway.

i can understand how annoyed you were although at least it wasn't vandalism that makes you swear even more and i know a bit about that :)

I had a small dent on my wing like someone had leaned on it and went to a bunch called Dent Devils - look them up in the yellow pages. Cot £25 and they did such a SUPERB job, I couldn't even point it out to you. Is there a crease in the metal? That might be a bit tougher to sort out. Good luck...

Yeah it's being assessed as the labour is over £850... new door and new wing, my poor baby :( :( :( :( But Paul reckons I should mod that half of the car - I said what, like Two Face out of Batman!
