Hi all
I have both a K@N air filter and a devil back box and there is no way the car is running at 150bhp more like 143-145 I suspect.
The car picks up a lot better and sounds nicer though.
If I could cat bypass (which you cant on 206CC) I would expect 150bhp as the cat restricts air/gas flow through the exhaust.
So I suspect when he is talking about a new exhaust he means the whole system including the cat bypass.
Have al look on the gti web site (Simon's site), they have some stats on from rolling roads with different mods.
Regards

Sam, a back box will hardly change the performance of your car as you are not changing the flow from the exhaust. If you was to get the complete exhaust you would benefit more as a back box basically changes the pitch of the cars sound, you also don't need to bypass the cat. It all depends on the type of exhaust you get aswell, if you get a performance pee shooter you will not benefit as you would with a 4" straight through exhaust. It is well known that with the right performance exhaust mixed with the correct air filter you can gain an extra 10% from your car so if my maths are correct we are looking at figures of 151.8 BHP.

I know I will not get 150bhp from a back box and filter, which is what I said in my original post.
But, I assumed that is what you where refering to.
Which air filter and which straight through exhaust system will give you 150 bhp, I am always interested in getting more bhp out of my pug
When you talk about a straight through exhaust, does that mean back box midsection and downpipe, as all one system?
And if so how do you not cat bypass if you replace the midsection?
Hehe Devil 4" Back Box is a performance pee shooter.

Sam,
No I was talking the whole lot mate, you are better to have an exhaust hand made out of stainless steel and by doing this you can leave the cat on. DO NOT but a powerflow exhaust as its not true stainless steel its the cheapest of the cheapest, stainless steel is not magnetic but powerflows are......mmm don't get it powerflow!!
Get a twin exit exhaust like one either side at rear or the sides of the car if you wanna be different, also get a piperX air induction kit or the ITG induction kit (very expensive but good) and finally go buy yourself an ecotec valve, these stop all dead spots in engine and gives you better fuel economy. A smoother runnig engine is the key to better performance.
Just remember never buy things off of a shelf that can be hand made as their not as good as someone custom making it.

It will cost between 600-1500quid depending on the style, sound, backbox and tail pipes you want.
I'll let you know where when I get mine done as I'm having a tailpipe designed at the mo.

Hi
Chadd
I suppose it depends what direction you want to go with your mods.
Like everybody I suspect we all want max bhp for min money.
If an exhaust costs £1500 and gives only an increase of 8bhp it seems a lot of money for very little gain.
But if you looking at a lot of other mods and you have the money I suppose it as all part of the finished product.
Good luck with your mods mate, and keep us up to date on what your doing.

I don't think I'm fooling myself at all in fact I know I'm not!did he have it rr tested before the zaust? i doubt it. some cars atually run higher than standard as standard, so i would guess this is the case. u will not get that much of an increase from those mods. i are fooling yourself mate.

Ok then as you know soo much explain this-8bhp frm just a zaust isnt realistic
From 135BHP standard to 151BHP and all that has been fitted is an exhaust and an induction kit, this is what my friend has done to his 2.0 pug and its the same engine just in a different car. Any ideas on that???
