Manifold/Oil Update

My car went in for its service on Saturday and I asked them to look at the brakes, oil drinking and weird vibration from the engine.

They called me up and tols me they didn't kno what was causing the vibration (i.e. they didn't look) but they had downloaded the latest software for my ECU (chip) which might help.

I drove home and it was identical - still vibrated at 2800 revs. The car did seem to drive better after the service - dunno if it had anything to do with the ECU upgrade??

When i got it home i stuck the engine cover down and it no loner vibrates.

Has anyone else had an ECU update, or is the dealership feeding me crap?

I had an ECU update on my first CC as the engine was running 'lumpy'

Made a huge difference. The car seemed to rev more freely and accelerate better
also MPG was better

my vibrations at 2500 is being caused by a crack in the second skin of the manifold. Currently waiting for parts from pug.

The manifold skin crack has been quite common on here. Get them to check it.

I had the same symptoms, they checked the car out...nothing, I took it back suggesting it was the manifold so they fitted a new one (under warranty) - and it still makes a racket at 2800 revs !

The car now has to go in for a new boot lock servo thing, and fuel usage investigation (fluctuating) so I might get them to look at the vibrations then.. Roll on March
