Not cc related i need you help

i plan on going down to London for new year eve, but a colleague has imformed me that Livingson is closing off Tranfalgur Square. Does anyone know whats happening

Won't that just be the normal closure to traffic because all the people will be milling about?

The way i was told was that trafalgur sq would be shut off to avoid mass congregation of party goers, and not just normal traffic

Yes its official I'm afraid! (also on the 6 O'clock the news a little while ago) Trafalgar Square is being closed off completely News Years Eve for safety reasons.

I think it was last year a female got assaulted by a number of youths in the crowd and it went undetected except for a CCTV camera cos everyone was drunk an partying.

I think they're trying to avoid a repitition this year of previous crushes and more so, of potential gangs targeting easy victims in the crowd.

Its a shame that society is soo sick that we can't all enjoy ourselves without this sort of thing happening.

So it's all just going to happen somewhere else.

Why not just make sure the proper security measures are taken in the first place, instead of just moving the potential trouble somewhere else?

Grrrrr i can't believe that the one time i get to go down to london at new years and the twat does that. I agree people are gonna end up congregating somewhere else and the police will have even less control. Well looks like i'd better cancel that hotel then
