Hi all

Dropped my CC off for its 6k service and to have all its probs sorted and on the service desk counter was a load Superchips brochures.

I had a quick chat with the chappy behind the counter and he stated that pug now cover the engine under the standard warranty with a superchip as long as they Pug dealer fit the chip.

On the CC do they actually fit a new chip or is it just reprogrammed?

In the brochure I picked up, there is no reference to Pug, looks like a standard brochure, but near the back they have a page about insurance and recomending Firebond PLC. They will cover the chip in the insurance policy, it gives the impression Superchips have a partnership set up between Firebond and superchips.

Any had any experience with this insurance company?

If this insurance covers any damage to the vehicle engine cos of the chip, then I guess there is no cost to pug to fit or repair the engine if it goes bang.

What are peoples thoughts?

it will be a new chip. you can buy repregrammable chips (usually for ppl who have extensive engine mods and they are around 500 quid) so that it can be programmed to your spec. but superchips is just a replacement.

p.s. if i recall correctly the reprogrammable chips are made my unichip. (dont quote me on that because i cant remember)
