I posted a leak post on the leak bit of the forum so just thought I would update on progress. I had a leak - bottom front of passenger side door - which I didn't know where the water was coming in from. It was supposedly fixed but as you guessed it wasn't. Knew where it was coming out but not getting in! Went to dealership on Saturday morning to book it in again and told them that I would drop it off Sunday and pick it up following saturday which was not problem to them. On sunday I discovered a gap where the window meets the seal. Only about 2mm but enough to let water in! It looks like the window has dropped at the front end as there is a slight difference in the distance between front and back windows from bottom to top. I am taking it to dealership sat am and will wait while they sort which hopefully won't be too big a job.
Just thought I would let know in case anybody has similar problems.
Gap is at moment plugged with pieces of rubber glove to create a temporary seal till the weekend.

Oh dear Burgh, that sounds awful mate.

You'd have thought the dealer would have located the problem on their first inspection and not leave it to you to tell them. Hope the've sorted it out this time round.

Well it went in on saturday and they aligned the window. But lo and behold it still leaks so it wasn't the window after all it now, appears to be where the seal on the top of the car meets the seal that then goes to the bottom of the car join there is a gap and the water is running down the top seal and instead of going straight into the bottom one it runs out over the top down the groove in the seal and sits at the bottom in a wee puddle.

It then builds up too much and escapes into the car. I tried last night to do a temporary repair but on checking this morning that didn't work!

Please Please Please has anybody got any ideas on how to solve this one so that I can tell the dealership what they need to do!

They said they did a water test and it was ok but looking at it now they need to leave the car sat at least 2 hours before the water will have seeped down.

The seals on our car were removed and lined with silicon sealant last week. So far no leaks.

This is something Peugeot dealers should have had recent training on.

Burgh, sorry to hear your problem hasn't gone away. You really shouldn't have to pay someone 17K for a car only to end up on your hands and knees trying to sort out a major leak! The responsibility clearly lies with the Peugeot dealership who took your contract.

I still have a problem with a leak on the driver's side, though it's tiny at present.I too have had the old "we've "done a water test but it seemed OK" reaction to my leak.I haven't noticed any water recently, but if it gets worse I plan to return to Peugeot to insist they sort out the problem.

If it's becoming a major problem for you, I can only suggest you ignore the brush off and leave it with the dealer for further tests.

Just a suggestion.Have you or other members thought about asking the AA or RAC to undertake a test report on the car. I suspect the mere mention to Peugeot that you may plan to undertake such a report could prompt the dealership into further action. Ok, It may cost some £80 initially, you may even obtain a discount for being a Peugeot AA member member for 12 months but if this problem shows up on the report, I would have thought you would have some powerful ammunition to use against the dealership both at present and in the future if things get worse.

I also don't see why you couldn't insist on reimbursement from the dealer for the independant report if it contradicts Peugeot's earlier finding (taking small claims court action if they refused).

(I know this is a bit of a martian reply - for all you readers of "men are from mars, women are from venus" - but I feel as frustrated for poor Burgh as I'm sure Burgh does himself).

Good luck, Robbie.
