Last question for today, I promise

Should the boot be alarmed? I can get into mine without the alarm going off. Is this normal?

Thanks

I sure mine goes off when it's locked then deadlocked, will check it

If it does then yours needs to pay a visit to your dealer.

Cheers

When I first got my CC the alarm would always go off as I would open the boot forgetting to unlock the car so yes yours has a problem there!

mines is alarmed too. i kept forgetting as well and the alarm was going off all the time.

take it back and ask for a rover 45 - no leaks, no alarm problems although it looks like an antique

Talking of alarms, does anyone think its not very effective. Fair point it does go off if the boot is open but when the roofs down its useless!!. Also if you lock and alarm yourself in it then jump around with the alarm set it doesn't go off for ages if at all.

i think there is a delay of 45 seconds before the alarm becomes active - although i've never tried jumping around in the car with the alarm set

To activate the sensors of the alarm when the roofs down u have to press the button to the right of the steering wheel.
It was designed to do this so flies dont set the alarm off

Well!Today i my dealer gave me a call...i am going to have my car delivered in two days...:smile:thats the good part!!!
The bad news are that my car will not be equiped with alarm:((thats because the alarms here in greece are no longer combatible with the new specs of the car, therefore the alarm is not recognised by the car!!!!!
They promised that as soon as they get the new ones they'll be fitting the alarm:(
Anyway i am just happy enough to be able to enjoy my aegean 206cc!!!
One question for foreign funs...Do you actually get your alarm fitted by your dealers???or it is already equipped from the factory??

Happy Driving!!!

GOOD news evagelosk!
Speaking for alarms, my dealer is already aware of the "problem" and will install the peugeot one, and NOT nasar or texalarm that others were using!!

If anyone is tempted to set the alarm off when inside the car, don't. It hurts like hell, trust me.

Saying that I agree that the alarm is pretty ineffective from outside. I washed, waxed and polished mine yesterday, and only realised I hadn't unlocked the blighter when I had finished. Alarm didn't go off once.

Well if I was a car, I certainly wouldn't verbally abuse someone who's washing and waxing me
