According to resources in danish car magazines 18.000 cc's have to get parts replaced due to an error in the roof construction.

The error can cause the roof not to close again after opening.

Peugeot hasnt started recalling the cars due to the amount of spare parts to be made...

I think that was the case with mine. 1st day owner roof-failure to close. Took it to dealer, said it was fixed. 2nd day owner roof-failure to close. Again to the dealer. 3rd day owner roof-failure to close. There was a big fight with the dealer Peugeot France was informed and 6 months now the problem has been totally fixed. In mine, there was a micro-switches problem.

Still waiting to have the recall work done to mine must be about 2 months now since i got the letter

Perhaps that's why the dealer is still waiting for parts.

Cheers

I had the recall done at a local dealer. mine was the 5th they had seen and the second that needed the recall work.

According to the helpline number on the recall letter the wiring loom for the roof was rubbing against the steering column.

My recall was in three parts? Does this make sense???
1x to do with wiring loom, and two to do with the roof locking mechanism.

Hi Derek,

They had the car all day (friday) hooked it up to their computer and couldn't find anything wrong, started it a few times during the day, first time every time ?!?!?!?

got it back saturday morning seemed fine until i filled up with petrol (ESSO), got back into the car wouldn't start second attempt starts then dies does this a couple of times then starts, revs die to about 500 rpm pulls off stalls at a junction restarted then dies, started it again revved it a bit, travelled a bit further (about a mile) stopped at some traffic lights, normal idling (about 900rpm), strange.

I'm now keeping a log of all the times it does it. time of day, weather, hot or cold engine etc etc.

Will keep taking it back until they find something

dare i ask how's your's

Cheers

dare to ask ........

well no point in shouting at you is there

it's still at the dealer, tuesday will be day 13, day 26 in total out of 68.

one seal has arrived but it was there about 2 weeks ago. the second one was due last wednesday but never arrived. i told the dealer i would reject the car today if there was no confirmed date for when the 2nd seal would arrive.

they threw themselves a little lifeline of 1 day by telling me that the fixing kit for the seals is due in on tuesday and they hope that the invoice will tell them when the 2nd seal is due.

they have asked peugeot the question but are still waiting on an answer (no surprises there).

so we will wait and see what happens on tuesday - should be interesting

Fingers crossed for you

Will you be keeping the CC if they fix the leaks or still rejecting it ?

Cheers

lyndon,

they didn't phone today as they said they would - i didnt phone to give them the opportunity to do what they say they would for a change......

that means a phone call early tomorrow, if there is no info then they will be told i want to reject the car as it will be 7 days after the parts were due in.

if the car is fixed - properly - then i will keep it.

if i reject it then i need to make the decision of a replacement or refund and due to the attitude of Peugeot Customer Services recently, there's every chance i won't take a replacement.

i will let you know what happens.

Hi Derek,

Deep down you know you still like/want a CC

Typical peugeot dealer, saying they will phone but don't, so you finish up phoning them, wasting your time and money, while they save a few quid on phoning you.

Cheers

Lyndon,

Like you say I do still want a CC. I saw the first pics around the time you saw it at the motor show around 2yrs ago.

I wasn't going to get one as most insurance quotes were £1000+, but when I found one around the £600 mark I ordered one right away.

I was considering getting an import if I got a refund as Trade Sales have CC's in stock, but the ones with leather end up only being about £1000 cheaper so in that case I would be just as well taking a replacement as it would be UK supplied.

Derek, just get a new one and get a good wil gesture from Peugeot like i did.

Cash off and 2 extra years AA cover.

Money always helps to sweeten a bitter pill

don't know if an extra 2yrs AA cover would be a sweetener - never kept a car longer than 2
