I am getting my new Aegean blue 206cc SE (new spec) on friday from motorpoint and they have offered to silver seal the car. The fabric protection seems worth having, but does anyone know anything about the paint protection. Does it mean that I don't need to wash the car? Does the rain just wash the dirt off and it then look freshly waxed? Is it worth getting for £200. Does it also work on the windows like a permanent Rain-X and if it doesn't can I rain-X ontop of it or will it cause problems.

I think you are being a "tad" over optimistic for it to mean you "never" have to clean car!

bee optimistic!!!
Dont know about Autosmart Silver seal protection, but im going for a seal protection called tefcar, wich is the one you get here in Norway. And yes it works good.
-The paint get another dept and becoms clearer and more shiny
-Ok, i have to wash the car but its so easy. Just spray shampoo on and splash it away with water and its clean and shiny
-No, I dont have to polish it.
-It makes the paint harder so its not so easy to get scratches on the parking spaces.
And the best of all, it works.... i have tried it and i think its worth the 400£ it costs here in Norway.
So if the Autosmart Silver seal protection is a simular product as tefcar so my advice is: go for it!!

get supaguard. It is now a Peugeot option from any parts dept and only £150. So you wont have any problems with it.

Thanks, I think I will. It will make the car look good for the 3 years plus that it is guaranteed for, and the fabric will be protected aswell.

Well we have had both CC's doen.

Mine which is due for replacement has been waxed/polished and Melanies hasnt.

To be honest, I wont bother polishing mine again. I like polishing it but it makes the car no better. After several polishes I would actually say it looks worse than if you dont.

Hi Rob,
So you can still wax the car after you have Supagard done on it then. Is it true that once you have had it done you can't wash your car for 7 days.

you are best not to wash the car for a 'ggod few days' after treatment. i just used the hose pipe to gently wash the muck off for the first week. After that washing as normal.

As for waxing, I would ask your dealer who does the treatment. Different dealers dont like it. Best not to screw the guarantee up on it.

Hi there !! I have work with about 10 cars last year with only autosmart products. It has been from 1988 years Opel to 2001 WV. Have almost all of autosmarts colletion. all from interior smellproducts to tirerefresch. Including Silver seal witch is for new cars
because the paint job ain´t as good as older cars. All the rain and dirt doesn´t leave the surface but when you wash the car it´s soo easy. If you want a car that shine after a wash do a recond with autosmart.
How much do you have to pay for a recond i the UK ?
When a do my car it´s about 10 pounds i material....
I when a do my friends 110 pounds ..

Somebody who knows any alloy weels store that export to sweden..?

Got this from Sue jerham, who works for Autosmart -

Sorry Will but you will need to wash your car occasionally! Rain collects
all sorts of air borne particles such as dust, pollen and industrial
fallout. Although rain washes away general grime, it deposits these
particles onto your car surface. In addition, general traffic film will also
collect on your car. This is also made up of a variety of substances,
including brake dusts and industrial pollutants. All the above are corrosive
and would over time penetrate any protectant. Therefore you should wash your
car at least every other month to ensure that the protective seal is not
broken. Once washed your car will look like new again and water will bead
off the paintwork. There is no need to polish your car. Silver Seal Paint
Protector is only applied to the paintwork, therefore if you wish to use
Rain-X on the windows there will be no problem. However, the general view of
people here is that although it is fantastic to begin with, it does not last
long and can make the windscreen smeary after a while.
