Right folks, after all the help I have given you lot can you help me.

Well actually I suppose its helping all CC owners. I have been having a lot of letters requesting info and help about faulty CC's from all over Europe.

What I need from you guys is posts about the actual problems you have had.

State the engine size, multiplex or not and if fixed.

Here goes Rob,

1.6s Manual with multiplexing

1. Cigarette lighter, ashtray light, glove box light and internal light manual setting all not working but fixed at first attempt.

2. Leak passenger side door and misalignment of front passenger window all fixed at third attempt and has been ok since March touchwood.

3. Antipollution fault warning intermittently. Attempted fix but reoccurred so now live with it.

4. Roof finished beep intermittently doesn't happen so I live with it.

5. Windows very occasionally refuse to move but as it happens so infrequently and usually in very hot weather I live with it.

6. Little plastic thingy holding carpet in place on drivers side refuses to stay put - will mention when next at dealership.

I would consider mine to be one of the better ones!!

Burge

P.S. Dealership are brilliant at customer service which is probably rare by the sounds of it.

2.0 mulitplex ..

carpet on drivers side was not secure and the passenger seat did not retain it's memory so when you used it to get in the back it would not go back to it's old position rather slide all the way to the back and lock there.

1.6s multiplex Dec 01,
carpet on drivers side was loose dealer fixed
squeeky brakes told dealer said it was small stones cleaned discs but still the same, metal noise when going by cars told dealer but has not been cured.
quarter inch scratches dealer put right but not a very good job done ( when car cleaned scartches appeared.)
nocking noise when engine idleing cannot be bothered to tell dealer cannot seem to correct problems.
When roof going down or up at end of cycles the beep does not always Happen.
other than that everything ok.

2.0SE, Multiplex
1. Dial failure on motorway (1000 miles). Fixed by new software (or at least it's never come back since)
2. Cracked exhaust manifold (4000 miles). On order - hopefully to be fixed at 6000 mile service in a week or two if it comes in in time.
3. Rear windows sometimes refuse to move until 3rd or 4th attempt (only in very hot weather, so not very often!). Living with this.
4. Roof finished beep doesn't always work. Living with this too.

Dec 2001, 2.0 SE Multiplex

Leaky roof clips, fixed myself with silicon paste.

Engine cutting out when braking - once, not been able to replicate.

Clutch pedal squeaking - fixed by dealer (WD40 probably).

Carpet came away at driver's side - fixed by dealer.

3,000RPM engine buzzzzz - fixed by dealer twice, first time for a day, 2nd time more permanent

Boot rubs on roof when I open it (so either boot or roof is not square) - live with it.

Paintwork holes on inside of boot lid caused by roof mechanism - dealer realigned the roof and touched up the holes.

Hmm well Rob, my biggest problem was the erosion in the second hand price of my CC when I sold it, due to cheaper imports.

infamous squeaky brakes- local dealer fixed, but only lasted a week! now once again, i cringe when i put my foot on them!

reference sticking windows in the hot weather, it might help to keep all your rubbers & seals around the windows well treated with any rubber care product you can find (eg in halfords etc). it may not solve it, but should help.
