When I fill my tank up so that no more will go in, my pointer on the dash lays just the ful tank marker.

Does anyone else have this problem.

Depending on which petrol station I fill up at, I sometimes have problems filling up at all!
I wondered whether it was the shape of the funnel bit of the CC as sometimes the petrol pump stops as if the tank was full but I have literally just started pouring petrol in it! Does anyone else get this?
It can be quite embarrasing as if I am in a rush I get to about £5 and have to leave it at that! The people in the petrol station must think I can't afford the petrol to run my CC as I am filling up a fiver at a time!!!

I have the same problem with mine, on new years day, the garage owener had to bring out some hot water so i could get the cap off (it was -12 in Lincolnshire, then it took me over 10 minutes to put enough petrol in the car to get home. I never seem to be able to totally fill it and then the light comes on when I have just less than a quarter of a tank.

I have had this problem filling up on a couple of occasions. Very irritating and embarrassing - tried wiggling the nozzle, putting it right in, holding it further out etc. The next time I went to the same garage, same pump but no problem - its a strange one!

yepp... have the same problems with filling it and the pointer at the dashboard never goes to topp. Even if I have filled it up so i can see the petrol in the tube the pointer wont go up to the top. How many litres can you get on your car?? I have filled 47 litres at the most.. tought the tank was at 40 litres ??? but 7 litres in the tube is a bit much isn't it???

The tank is 47 litres,

I had the same problem when I first had the car. Now I only squeeze the trigger half way in. The petrol goes in slower and allows air to escape. I can get 44 litres in even when the fuel warning light hasnt even come on.

So just fill it SLOWLY and you will be OK

if you move the nozzle at a few different angles then i can normally fill it right up.

the light always comes on when there is 51 or 52 miles left according to the trip computer. thats the equivalent of around just under 7 litres left - leaving 40L to fill.

This seem to be a Peugeot problem as I have the same problem with my 306 Cab. I've found like Rob that the solution is in slow fill. Does anyone know if the fill nozzles in France are different? There's got to be a logical reason for this as I can't imagine such a fundamental feature of a car - filling it with fuel - would have such a flaw

Frosty,

i never had any problems with my 206 1.4LX and problems with the CC for filling up are minor.

Chris - you will find the whole petrol station has been ripped down now!
What colour is your CC? I am near there and have a blue CC.
Have you had experience with Charters of Camberley?? When they were Whites they were worse than awful but now they seem to have got slightly better!
You are not one of the moody CC drivers I have seen about are you??
Are you planning on meeting in Birmingham when we do? It will certainly be an Italian job if you do as Pauline is near us too!
Small world!

I got my CC through Carters of Camberley. I didn't have any problems with them. Haven't been back for my 6,000 mile service yet (due mid Feb at the rate I'm clocking up miles).

I have had to take mine to Charters of Camberley for the recall work and even though I had problems with them "investigating" the recall when I thought they were fixing the recall problems just like most other people found, I found them not too bad.
When it was formally Whites they were useless and that was where the sales guy refused to sell me a car as he told me he didn't think I could afford it and he wasn't willing to give me his time!
What colour is your CC? Have you seen me in mine? (blue!)

Mine's blue too but I live in Basingstoke not Camberley, so you're unlikely to see it much there (except in the morning when I zip past up the M3).
