Water Sports!?!

Right lets explain this a bit more. My Renault had the same problems once, and they had to block the ends of the seals.

The water doesnt generally get into the hollow bits when using a pressure washer. It tends to be over a longer period of rain or even mist when water works its way in by capilary action. Thats why garages always spray lots wtaer on the car and see no problems.

There are special sealants out there that are odourless - but cost heaps so thats why the garages just use cheap smellystuff.

I got my car back on Friday after three days at the dealership having the leak fixed again. I'm surprisingly optimistic this time as I spoke to a guy at the garage who actually seemed to know what he was talking about. Add to that the fact that it hasn't stopped raining since I picked up the car yet not a leak in sight, they've even stopped the door and windows from rattling.

Hope I'm not counting my chickens, hope it lasts! Oh, and Rob, I'm pleased to say there's no odour from the sealant.

Meeting went well, i didn't need to shout and they handled things pretty well

We will need to see if the faults are fixed properly but they seem pretty keen to get everything sorted out so I am happy so it looks a bit more promising.

As far as the courtesy car goes, I was only looking for a high spec 307 or 406 but the After Sales Manager has given me his Y reg Rover 75 2.0SE V6. Not exactly the right car for someone my age (maybe if i was 30yrs older) but you can't argue over it's class or value.

He also gave me if with a full tank of petrol but i can't promise it will go back that way
