P20 GCC (looks like P206 CC)

Surely the ultimate plate for such a beautiful car.

Had to sell my car due to change of location, so number plate currently on retention.

£800 ono

as plate only cost £250 incl £80 transfer fee £800 is a bit on the high (very) side.

if you lower the price drastically, i would consider buying it.

Why would he lower the price
He's not stupid
There's plenty of people in this forum who would pay 800 for that plate (if not more)
It's just good business

Chris,

before jumping in at the deep end like you just did .....

it isn't the first time i have seen this plate up for sale - and why would it be for sale again ??? due to the asking price i expect.

also the plate is P20 GCC, not P206CC. with the new laws with regards to mis-representation of number plates then this is not as special as it looks.

why would you pay £800 for a plate and then risk it being confiscated because you made it look like something it wasn't ???

i rest my case !

Hi,
£800 for a number plate is not too bad when you think that K1NGS went for a £1/4million. The plate is rather good, and I considered it myself when it was posted for sale in the old forum, although I was a little put off with the law - if the plates' spacing or font is changed from the standard (where offenders are liable to a maximum fine of up to £1000 and in some cases the mark may be withdrawn. Vehicles with illegally displayed number plates will now fail the MoT test)
Although - even in the standard font, it does look quite good. £800 isn't that bad, I paid 17K for a Peugeot206 (now that's crazy  !!)

If it's any concelation, my plate had the normal font but with 'wrong' spacing for 9 months and never got pulled over once.

The police saw it loads of times - I'm not condoning breaking the rules, but chances are the police have better things to do!

Exactly
The plate would look good in its normal state
and as Stuart says the number plate trade is quite an expensive one. PEN15 was the highest selling plate at about 400 grand and it's now living on a porsche.
As for the legal side of things I can confirm that the Police have more important things to worry about....

It depends where you live as to what they pick you up for. If you live in a really quiet area they will pull you up for anything.

ANYWAY - lets stop this one. The guy wants to sell so lets only see posts by people who may want to buy.

START a new post in discussions on number plate merits - please

I have a private plate spelling my name with the help of screw covers in the correct place. Howver PC Plod pulled me over for this.

Doesn't think it helps when you put it on a head turner of a car like the CC. This plate with the same and worse alterations went completly unnoticed for three years on a 106!!.

If you don't mind can you tell us what happened with PC Plod?
Did he let you off or give you hassle?
It is just interesting to know when people are thinking of "modding" the plate that is up for sale!
Thanks

It is an a MOT failure if the number plate does not have the correct spacing or the letters are not of equal size and thickness. It's doesn't apply to a CC, but is worth bearing in mind.

I smiled sweetly and he let me off, just told me next time I could be fined. Think he was taken with the car.

The Police are really clamping down on this now so be warned :0). Keep your spacing on your plated legal.
