I have 2 minor problems which I will live with until 6000 service and they are:

About 1 times in 10 when starting I get 'Anti pollution fault' on the display and the warning bleep. It doesn't happen every time and have told the dealer I will wait until service to have a look.

The other problem is the courtesy light only does its automatic thingy when you turn the car off or open the door. I can't turn it on manually when sat in the car with the engine off - I have to open the door.

Has anybody else come across this and if so was it sorted out without too much grief?

Tanks

Hi Burge,

I have the same problem with the interior light. It won't work in just the plain old on setting - only with the doors. Out of curiosity is yours a new model cc? Mine is. Also my cig lighter has no power going to it and I think that problem is connected to the light not working. Is yours? Will you check yours and let me know please.

I haven't had mine in to be fixed yet, but when I do I'll let you know what they say.

Josh, Don't know about my cig lighter being a non-smoker (even smokers won't be smoking in my CC!) but I will check it out at the weekend when I next drive the CC and let you know. I'm afraid I have to save the CC for weekends as I go to do my horse every evening and don't want the interior to get too sh***y so I'm relegated to my husbands Saxo. Mine is a 1.6s and new spec. I also thought there should be a light in the glove box in the 1.6 new spec but that doesn't seem to work although there is a light in there. Anybody know then I can add it to my list of things to sort out. Thanks.

here is my status regarding light:
- the glove box light work only when the car is runing or the key has been turned around to the starting point.
- the same with the interior light.
I dont think that this is a fault with the car. Even if it seems funny, it looks that its the way its suposed to work.

stupid as it may seem, i'm sure i've read in the manual that the interior light only works when the engine is running. Can't really see the point in this, when i want to use the interior light i have to open the door.

Hi Burge

I too get the strange 'anti-pollution fault' message (then again I also get random bleeps as well with no message at all for no apparent reason), I've probably seen it about 6 or 7 times in the six weeks I've had the car. Do you notice it more after you've just refuelled ?

David,

I haven't noticed whether it does it more after refuelling but will look out for that now. Only really drive the CC at weekends so refuelling doesn't happen very often. I work for the railway and get a free ticket to work and its a lot quicker than car! Hence weekends only - just in case you thinks I'm a "Rich Bitch" who can afford to have a car just for the weekends!

I'm not a cc driver (yet but will be as soon as i payed this one ) but i do have a 2002 spec 1.6 16v engine.. I managed to drive the car 35 Km before exactly that message came, needless to say back to the dealers right away. They investigated and came up with the diagnose "Rear lambda probe not propperly mounted" Cars been ok ever since.

Josh,

My cig lighter doesn't work. Another one for the list of minor problems.

Bergen,

The interior light doesn't work properly with the engine on or off.

Burge

P.S. anybody know about the Glove Box light on a new spec 1.6 CC

I have just filled up with petrol and YES! I got the anti pollution fault thing again - so it seems it may be connected. Anyway I have booked it in to go to the dealers on 6.2.02 for the following:

1. Antipollution message
2. The interior light doesn't work manually
3. The glove box light doesn't work at all
4. The cig lighter doesn't work at all
5. And today after getting into my precious CC for the first time since last sunday there was a tiny tiny puddle of water on the mat at the passenger side.

I would have lived with 1-4 till 6000 service but feel a leak needs sorting pronto.
