Some of you may remember the trouble I had with Virgin cars. Briefly, having ordered my cc in October, and expected delivery early May, they rang me (after I'd chased an update) in April to say there was a delay and it wasn't due till November:(
There is a happy ending to this. I've been driving my black cc for about 5 weeks now, having ordered it thru the local dealer.
I've now got my entire deposit back from Virgin (including the £100 they usually deduct as admin costs!) and also got 30 weeks of interest on the deposit from them as a "good will jesture".
I'll never deal with Virgin cars again but at least I've got all my money back.
And driving round for the last 5 weeks in my fantastic car more than makes up for the extra dosh I had to cough up for going the non - import route!
Thanks everyone for your advice. I'm convinced that the letter to Mr Bransons office ensured I got all my money back! (And they did offer me about 3 alternatives but when you're paying that much for the car, you want the spec you've set your heart on!)
Happy driving,
Julie

It certainly is.
Now if only it was a sunny today as it was yesterday!
Oh well, it still brings a smile to my face even with the roof up.
Mind you, if I could afford an SLK....maybe next time!

Well mine is still on target for late July. Hopefully, your experience was a one-off

Hi Alexls
As long as you're getting updates, I guess you'll be OK.
The only reason I was told of the delay just 5 weeks before expected delivery was because I chased them. Somehow get the feeling the order was never placed although they blamed the supplier in Spain.
However, I do know they have a few silver and blue ones coming in very soon coz they offered me one of those instead. So hopefully you'll be OK. What spec did you go for?
Julie

They've changed their supplier - still in Spain though.

£12,000 has just entered my bank account. Just waiting for Virgin to ask me for it now - should be sometime this week...

Well wouldn't you know it. Pug have delayed delivery of my car to the supplier - it won't be there for another month!

At least I should get a '52' reg...
