Hi,
I've always used the standard E10 petrol in the 2 litre Peugeot, but last week I accidentally filled up with premium E5 and it was quite a bit more expensive.
I have however noticed something of a difference in the car using the posh stuff.
The engine feels much more perky and somewhat quieter.
I've also noticed it's returning a better mpg, up from 39 to 41.
I've done the same routine and route "back and to" to work and I've measured the mpg over the weekly 200 miles I do.
For the extra few ££s it's difficult to know whether it pays for it self against the extra mpg I'm getting.
On top of that I'm definitely enjoying the more refined sound of the engine and better Performance.
Have any of you good folk here got any opinions on this subject.
Kind Regards,
Johnny

Re: E5 / E10 petrol
I never use E10 if E5 is available. Our cars run better on E5 with better performance and mpg. We no longer have our 206cc and now run a 2018 VW Golf Estate 1.5 petrol, and a 2019 VW Polo SEL 1.0 petrol. Both return over 50 mpg on the decent stuff and on a longer run each betters 60mpg.

Re: E5 / E10 petrol
Totally agree Ron.
After using it now for the last few weeks I've really noticed a marked improvement using E5 fuel.
The car sounds much more refined , it now pulls more stronger from lower revs and the MPG has increased (but not by alot)
I've made my mind up that E5 petrol is the way to go from now on.
I'm curious to know if owners the 1.6 engines have had the same experience as my 2.0 litre engine.
On the subject of improvements I'm glad I've also ditched the K&N air filter I found hidden inside the air box.
Once swapped for a standard paper type element, the engine has now lost its raspy induction note.
Great for sporty minded of person, but I found it annoying on a long journey.
