disconnect battery or not for new stereo

Hi All

I have ordered a new stereo and have seen different advice on if I should disconnect the battery when I change the Stereo and speakers? Please can anyone advise whats best? Thank you.

Either disconnect or pull the fuse for the stereo.

The radio has two fuses - one is through the ignition to power all the functions, and the second is "always-on" to maintain the memory of stored stations. They are in the BSI (cabin fuse box) and my handbook shows them as F4 and F15.

If you are using standard wiring/adaptor connections then it's probably ok to just pull the old unit and connect up the new one. Just don't have the ignition on. if you are cutting the wiring (I would ask why?) then disconnect the battery. Most "accidents" happen when live wires are left floating around and short on the metal frames behind the dash.

Thank you for the advice, I am not planning on cutting any wires, hopefully the new stereo will connect into where the old one is and I ordered the connectors that show on Amazon when you buy the speakers. The description says they are made for Peugeot...thanks again!
