timing belt side engine rattle.
I have a 2ltr petrol cc and it goes very well but when I first start it in the morning it rattles from the timing belt side of the engine also the tick over is very lumpy until the rattle stops, it is only about half way through its timing belt cycle should I change the timing belt. When the rattle stops and the car has warmed up it drives fine, no rattles, no lack of power, smooth tick over, any help would be most appreciated.

Hydraulic tappets. They can take some time to fill up.

I insist on fully-synthetic oil. The detergents in it clear the gummy deposits, which give rise to the tappet noise, over time, and prevent their return.
