Hello,
I have become a fan of the 206 since 2 months now and I have decided to buy one.
But first I have some questions.
1. Are the roof problems all solved when I buy a new CC or is there a chance that it might give problems ?
2. Is it true that the 1.6 has gotten better reviews than the 2.0 ? I have read many times that the 1.6 is a better choice than the 2.0.
I drive a BMW 316i from 1993 now, does the Peugeot 1.6 perform better than the BMW ?
3. Which extra's should I buy ? I want a grey 1.6 and I am thinking about the airco as an option. Is this a good option to have and should I go for the airo or the Climate control ?
4. How much can I get off the new price in the Netherlands should I buy the car with no trade in ? The dealer said max. 4% off, but I find this a little too less.

1) Have had no roof problems and I as I remember it hasnt been a huge problem.. look at the final result of the cc survey..
Well after a second tought.. is leaking a roof problem?? if it is.. then the answer is: no they havent sorted it out and my is still leaking.. :-(
2)Yes it is true... at least here in Norway.. the reason is that the 1.6 matches the car best... but I dont belive that the 2.0 owners agrees with that
3) leather is a must... the alu details looks nice... I dont know about aircondition.. but I dont have it and I dont miss it.. the extra for aircondition is 1000£ here in Norway and I dont think its worth that.
4) There is not much room for getting the price down here in Norway, but these things changes from country to country... Have you tried the netherland cc sites and forums?? They might be abel to give you a better answer...
Good luck :-)

Whenever you buy a car, you run a small risk of getting problems - but my CC has been perfect, but my last car (Megane) was terrible - it's luck I think
2. Is it true that the 1.6 has gotten better reviews than the 2.0 ? I have read many times that the 1.6 is a better choice than the 2.0.

Wasn't the BMW316 a 1.8l or am I being daft? Well, I looked at the 1.6 not from performance, but from insurance. But once I added sports pack and alloys, it cost almost as much as the 2.0 so I got that instead
3. Which extra's should I buy ? I want a grey 1.6 and I am thinking about the airco as an option. Is this a good option to have and should I go for the airo or the Climate control ?
Get as much as you can affordAll I've got is a windbreak (Thanks Rob!) and a spare alloy (Thanks Rob!). But the climate control is cool...

Don't know, discounts are hard to get in the UK (they tend to offer mats instead) so 4% sounds good from where I'm sitting![]()

1. Never had a roof problem. Complaints on the forum are very rare now particularly since Peugeot changed the design of the rubber seal.
2. 2.0 obviously. Nothing spoils a car more than it being underpowered (e.g. MG). Also - because of the mountains - there are no straight roads in Norway so a 1.6 would be fine there; while there are no hills and thus no bends on the roads in the Netherlands so 2.0 is the way to go.
3. Definitely climate control. Everybody knows the temperature never rises above freezing in Norway so they don't need it.
4. Don't know.
Definitely get one.
Vince.
PS. I like the music.

Heh, thanks for your answers all.
I am gonna buy one, I have made up my mind.
It's gonna be the grey metallic 1.6.
Extra's will be the climate control and a windshield.
I don't have any more money left to spend on the ABS, leather and 16 inch tyres.
Only problem I've got is that it will be nice weather until september and If I order the car now I will get it delivered in november, the rainy month of the year in Holland
. That way I will know 100% if the roof problems ( leaking ) are solved
.
Hmm, the local dealer here has got a 1.6 Roland Garros in stock, delivery time 3 days. Extra costs compared to the normal 1.6 will be 3,500 euros. Total value of the extra's is about 4,500 euros.
The Roland Garros would be nice, if only I had the money left...
p.s. I was in Bergen (Norway) last year for 3 days and it didn't rain ! I was told it was unique, it's a place where it rain 270-300 days a year. Who needs a cabriolet there , heh
!

Maybee thats why I almost dont see any other cc's around
Seriously.. yes it rains much in Bergen. Thats why the hard top is so good. when the sun comes (for an hour or so
) the other cabs cant put their roof down because their soft top is wet... I just sweep the water off and nicely put my roof down and drives away...

I test drove the 2.0 and 1.6 before I bought mine. I found that the 1.6 actually felt nippier, the engine revs more freely, and the ride is not so firm.
The real reason I chose the 1.6, though, is that you cannot buy a 2 litre automatic. I got bored with manual boxes a long time ago and current auto boxes are so good there doesn't seem to be any point in messing about with a clutch.
Wouldn't mind another 40bhp at the top end though! Perhaps a turbo?
