Infernal Beeping.....

The Roof System on the GF's 206 isn't working due to a rear quarter light regulator that is most likely in need of rebuilding or replacing.

unlatching the 2 cabin latches

i would get the beeping that the roof was ready to lower,

well i lowered the roof manually so i could have look at all the swiitches and make sure that they were clicking etc.

then it came time to put the roof up again manually, I followed the instructions in the various forum links describing the procedure the white (P.I.T.A.) clips put in their place etc etc.
the right hand side one clips into place locking the latch in the rear but the left hand side one will not lock.

I have released the pressure in the system, by unscrewing the pressure release bolt on the hydraulic pump, etc. but still no luck the left hand one will not latch. this has resulted in the dreaded beeping while driving.

can anyone provide further insight on how i can get the damn thing to stop beeping...

Just a guess, but sometimes the latch release mechanism, which is cable operated, needs adjustment. There are adjusters at the cable ends.

Do you have any news about your issue? I think I'm getting the same problem.
One of the trunk lid sides is not locking (click sound in the end of operation) when I open/close the roof.
To 'solve' this I need to push manually the trunk lid

Due to work obligations and bad weather, i havent had a chance to play with it yet... i have he next few days off. so i will have a go and hopefully sort it out and update the thread accordingly..

well i had some time today to fiddle with the trunk lid latches.

I tried both tightening and untightening the cables but to no avail. .it will not go into place..
no amount of leverage from screw driver could get it to lock. No amount of swearing helped either. Im glad the stereo works.. will have a try again over the weekend.. but until then.. volume mark 12 and up

Perhaps the car has been in an accident, and the bodywork is a bit twisted?

no accident, body work is straight
and the mechanism was working until i decided to lower the roof manually to check all the switches..

well.. i followed instructions posted in the link.
hydraulic pump started pumping etc etc. i hear a click on the passenger side.. and then the hiss of haudraulic fluid escaping from somewhere... I stopped and went to have a look where the hydraulic fluid was escaping from.. and its coming from the area where the pull cord is.. back to square one and then some... hahahaha

This won't help with your hydraulic leak, but, in relation to the window regulator, you may not be aware that there is a way to override the window to raise the roof. It is in the handbook - the Practical Information section, at the end of the emergency roof operation item.

If you don't have a copy, go to http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/APddb/, chose the language, the car the model and the date bracket.

I am fortunate enough to have a hard copy of the manual for the car.

i will be trying the procedure again, maybe i can get the system to lock and to see exactly where the leak is coming from. or i should just quit and do the sensible thing and take it to a local Peugeot specialist who deals with roofs and watch him get it sorted with but a twist of a spanner and the silvering of the palms..
