Re: car immobilizor problem
Sounds battery related. It could be it is on it's last legs.
When you say it's fine what do you mean? What's the voltage after sitting overnight? Should be up towards 13v (12.7, 12.8, etc)
Not just a loose or corroded battery terminal?

Re: car immobilizor problem
It's probably not getting fully charged with only low mileage. Over time that will wreck the battery as it will get used to being low and not get fully back to max volts.
Take it for a drive round the island ... give it a good boost.

Not for many years and I think it was a very low cc Fiesta so not capable of much more than that anyway!Capncol wrote:gazza82 wrote:Take it for a drive round the island ... give it a good boost.![]()

Have you been there? Think it's a max 40mph limit.
But even a few miles at 35/40 shoukd help.

Re: car immobilizor problem
You need to test it after it's been stood overnight. If you have driven it home, and tested it soon after it won't be accurate.
Ideally you need to test it under load which is why the pros use a "drop tester"
You can simulate this by putting on ign, heater fan and headlights (engine off) The voltage should drop slowly. If it starts to plummet, your battery needs replacicing
