Standard Stereo's....Coded?

Before I rip off my Factory installed clarion this weekend..are they coded? If so where the hell can i find the number.

If it helps it's a 2002 Multiplex model.

no code...the machine only works with the car though cause I tried to fit the CD player in another car. I've taken out the stereo and later put it back in with no problems.
