i have a clunking noise on my 2002 206cc 2.0ltr, I jacked the car up and wiggled the front right wheel and didn't feel a clunk. I noticed from under the bonnet there was a slight gap at the top of the suspension mount and the bolt plate (excuse my lack of technical terms), when pushing down on the car body the gap got bigger on both sides, right more than left. should there be any play or should it be tight?
thanks I advance

If I think you are talking about what I think your are that should be tight. The top mount has failed.
A picture might help.

Doesn't look too bad. Check bottom ball joint and droplinks
Cheers Col.

Re: clunking noise from front
When I lift clutch up and down while driving the clunking is bad, could it be engine mounts or driveshafts?

I think so, in addition to the other things mentioned.

Check the engine and gearbox mounts first .. take it one step at a time.

Will be looking Friday, I'm paranoid that something is going to fail while I'm driving!

Is this amount of play normal? It doesn't move hardly any the other side.
Sorry about me moving so much.
