Another CC hits the road !!!

Well after 130 days waiting, I finally took delivery of my CC SE at 5pm tonight.

A few things to mention ......

I remember someone (possibly from another country) saying that the hazard / central locking button isn't split - it is

The Automatic Lights are a great idea - happy I have the new spec

The Automatic Wipers are a great idea if you don't want to know where you are going in the rain - to put it simply, don't rely on them too much

I know a 2.0 is a big difference against a 1.4LX - but it really likes the petrol :sad:

Would I be right in saying there is a specific manual for the CC ? I asked the salesman if I had the latest manual with instructions on the auto lights etc.. he said I did - and I did, but it's for a normal 206 so doesn't mention the roof or anything

The 6 speakers against the previous 4 seem to be a lot better - although it still isn't that good

Wheel Arch Extensions look excellent, mines is Silver like Erm's - for Â£149 I would recommend them to anyone

The Mesh Grille also looks great - but Â£179 is a lot for a bit of chicken wire

Can't think of anything else to say the now apart from I am happy with it - had the roof down twice but not while driving - it's absolutely freezing

the 206cc manual is the standard 206 manual with a leaflet type insert covering cc bits.

I wouldn't imagine the new one is even printed yet

The manual I got with my CC is a completely different one to the standard 206 and is a proper 206 CC manual. I know a lot of people still haven't got their proper manual as they seem to be few and far between but you should ask your dealer for the proper manual as it explains how to use the roof manually if it ever fails! (would it dare!!!!)

Good to see you have your car Derek!! I'm really chuffed for ya!

So what exactly are the auto lights? If you go on a long journey and it gets dark, do the just come on by themselves?

No the wheel arch extensions are extras on every 206. Not standard on any model. If u check my pics (owner 86) they are over every wheel.

The auto lights do go on whenever it gets dark if they are set for it. They seem to be pretty sensitive, as when I left to go to work this morning at 8.30am, it was a bit dull and the lights went on - a little bit more sensitive I may say than the supposedly auto wipers which don't really amuse me at all.

I only copied you 50% Erm

I ordered the Mesh Grille when I ordered the car at the end of July but was undecided about the extensions. Seeing them on your car and another 206 that lives near me (not a CC) made my mind up.

Also nice to say that everyone at work liked the car - my Duty Manager said that it looked like money on wheels

Hi Derek,

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm going to go into my dealer next week to see if he has a build date yet. They said they were expecting delivery late December or early January. I hope it's not in the dealership or I may be tempted to get it registered there and then!

I keep telling myself that it makes sense to wait until March 1st! My heart keeps telling me diferant though!

well unlike you I am hoping my new CC is going to be late. This means that i will have time to get Â£1200 back from Peugeot credit card.

I already have my current CC so its not as bad for me, I just drive in and swap, hopefully when it suits me

Hi Bri!!!! i dont get it... why wait to 1. of march??? why is that date so important?? here in Norway 01.01.2002 is the important date... new year, taxes are running from that date and when i sell it every one see that its registrated in 2002 and that that its a 2002 model. so im waiting to take it out from the dealer to the first working day after new year..
A beautiful black cc 1.6 with paint sealing and aliminium details (the sport pack) is waiting for mee.. it arrived the dealer on friday, and its sertanly worth waiting a couple of weeks to registrate it.
Also from 01.01.02 new signs wil be availible, then we can buy what ever register plate we want... i have ordered "206 cc - bergen", pretty cool i think.
with waiting a couple a weeks i will save about 50Â£ and the price with a resal will be higer.
so my question to you bri is: is there a magic thing about 1. of march??

In the UK, number plates change on 1st March and 1st September - that is why it is special to Brian.

Brian,

I have a feeling when you see it, you will want it. I wasn't in any great hurry to get mine as I still had the use out of my existing 206LX, but as soon as I saw it I was happy and if I went and saw it like you and then have to wait another 8 weeks or so - it would be impossible

Also, I thought yours would have been delivered by now unless your dealer told Peugeot there was no hurry as you didn't want it until March. My car was delivered to the dealer sometime w/c 26/11/01.

Anyway better go.

Bergen,

you said you will get the car the first working day after the New Year. Cant you do what some people do in the UK. Get the car pre registered for 1st January and have it delivered to your house and leave it parked on the drive until New Years day.

You will then be the first person in your street with a new car in 2002. And the best bit is you dont have to sit and wait any longer to drive the car.
