Buzzing Noise when Braking

My 206cc has started making a buzzing noise when braking it doesnt do it all the time when braking but i can feel a vibration through the brake pedal.Its had all new discs and pads on it .Could it be something sticking or something to do with the ABS.?.Theres no noise when driving only braking and its intermittent not all the time ..Any ideas ? Thanks

That is what the ABS sounds like when it is operating, i.e when one or more tyres are losing traction. Wet road, worn tyres ? If not, it could be the new surfaces bedding in - use the brakes gently for a while.

I had new tyres on the front ..ive not had the car long and it was making the buzzing noise when i got it ..but as i said its not everytime i brake ..just hoping its nothing expensive ! And ive not driven it in bad conditions ie..wet roads or anything ..could the sensor be faulty ? ..thanks

If you didn't do the disks and pads yourself, perhaps there's an issue with the fitting. Might be worth getting it checked by someone you trust.

Try with the new tyres on the rear. Which is the correct way to fit them.

Buzzing coming from NSF? If so the pump is cutting in. Do you get any warning lights when this happens?

Buzzing sounds like NSF..no warning lights showing up though

The ABS "pump". You won't get a warning light because the ABS is just doing its job. When it detects wheel slip during braking, it "pumps" the brakes.

ESP/ASR should flash to show traction is lost.
Light (if fitted) is to the left of half full mark on fuel gauge. See page 30 of this PDF Owners manual

Abs light on in ignition but goes off when started its not on when braking ..doesnt make noise when braking driving normally ..only buzzes when i bring the car to a stop ..10mph or less but light doesnt come on when car at a standstill ..got a horrible feeling its going to be expensive fix !

May be a cracked, rusty or damaged relucter ring. If you are looking at this your self, jack up each wheel in turn and inspect the rings. If it is post 2002 you only need to check the front only. It's the toothed ring on the right hand end of the shaft which will be behind the hub assembly.
