LED STRIP 3rd Break Light

Hi,

i just bought a 30cm Led Stripe with 18 Led´s 12V (20mA) €5,95 and want to replace the bulp lamps of the third break light in the boot cover. Cuttable every 3 led´s.

I tested the LED Stripe with a 12V 1,5 Ampere Power adapter of a music keyboard (inside plus / outside minus) all fine !

Question: Does anybody know what color the plus wire of the peugeot 206cc 3rd break light is ?
And how much ampere ? (Original mini bulps have 23watt (10x2,3 Watt) I have no Tester, sure I have to buy one someday....

are the 206 wiring same as 206cc ?

Colours tend to vary over time, and perhaps from factory to factory, and so cannot be relied upon. Get a helper to operate the brake pedal, and use a voltmeter to check.

Also, the light only has two wires, and one is connected permanently to earth, so can be checked with an ohmmeter.

The one on our CC is sealed .. you can't easily get into it to swap out the bulbs ..

and 206 Hatch is different as it has a rear screen washer jet in it!

I had managed the pulb change of an old defect one some month ago. so i know how fragile the cunstruction is... i really prefer to insert the led stripe into the lighthouse. i dont want to buy a multimeter for that. hope the wire is GreenYello so it is the + plus pole ( i could touch one end of the lamp wire on the carframe and the other wire to one of the arriving wires from the break Switch . If the lights go on i know its the +plus :-)

Hey, i have my 3rd. brake light in my hands. 2 bulbs again no funktion. I´d found a yello and a green wire. The Quiz , whats the positive one :-) ?

As I said above, colours cannot be relied upon. Get yourself a multimeter.

I saw in all electric diagramms that the yello marked lines goin to earth/Frame. I will try to find the earthwire and be placing the multimeter on my christmas-wishing list :-)

I tryed to fix the light bulps in their Copper electric frame yesterday. Going crazy.
Almost every bulb is loose. Manually pressing the tiny copper springs to hold the lamps does not fix that for long time. After closing the boot cover 10 times, surely the next bulb will be loosen again.

:-) ok guys, a have a long wire , (german: Lange Leitung : long wire :-) ) but now, with a smile on my face i understand. And i am proud to be in your circle. (in Eurer Runde)

But the big question is, what did the technican ing. of the design master from peugeot think ? Some Yello going on earth ? Or he tought , i gonna kick you and make it my way ?

Ohh, i´ll give 2p on green :-)

Who ever designed the 206 had a sense of humour ... Try changing a cambelt ... Oh and he wasn't a mechanic.

Ok, it´s the yello one (postive+) I had connected the -minus wire of the led stripe to a screw on the frame (where also a green/yello marked wire is placed) Then I connected first the green one of the brake light plug -> no light. After connecting the yello wire of the high level brake light plug - > voila, the lights turned on. 3p for the house :-)
