Am I reading that right? You have to replace the hubs complete? Do the bearings not just drift out or is that a bit too old school?

Re: Rear wheel bearings
Replace with disks, press out with drums.
Looks like from £30 for the disk kit on Ebay.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
No, lost me there Ian. Bearings showing as separate, why replace the hubs? The discs could do with doing do I'd probably do that at the same time.
Really? Press out?? Going to have to blag some use where I used to work then.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
They'll be good then.
Not everything you see in fleabay is described properly. And nearly £15 postage!!!
I think my garage charged about £30 for a new hub when the bearing destroyed itself when fitting a new back-axle.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
Yeah, I'm minded for the aggro of trying to drift/press out bearings it may be simpler just to do the hubs and discs as Ian's original comment. Just grates a bit when you spent all your life working to a tight budget to maintain a fleet.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
Changing just the bearings is easy. It"s easier with a press but not hard without. I can run you through it if you like
Cheers Col.

Re: Rear wheel bearings
Thanks Col - if it can be done easily enough I'll do it, unless a hub kit is cheaper. I assume a brass drift will get them out as long as the Base is supported?
