help again indicator flasher relay
hi guys i have put a couple of led flasher lights in rear of car but its causing all indicators to flash quickly something to do with leds drawing little power so bmi thinks bulb is out. and i can get a relay that can fix this problem but something tells me its built in relays on the 206cc am i right? only other option is resistors but dont like the idea of them as they get really hot i hear. my back lights are aftermarket the lexus type. thanks for any advise cheers jim

Its in the BSI, cant you hang the original bulbs in the rear quarters so they're inline and unlikely to set fire to anything from getting hot, that will work properly. Safety first tho!

yeah thats a option same as putting resistors in. its the heat i am worried about. not that indicators are on for long. i dont like messing with the wiring on the 206cc its bit me before when i blew my hazzard switch but might be the only option, thanks for your reply

Hi,
You are correct about the resistors being required and them getting hot.
A quick calculation comes up with about 10 Ohm?? You could easily buy a couple of 100 watt ten ohm resistors that would not get hot.
I will be adding some to mine so I can also use LED's.
Will advise when I calculate properly. Hoping I can just change the flasher unit to a solid state £1 one.
Cheers,
Iain.
