Re: courtesy car insurance

Hi all,

I had the cam belt snap on my car and had to have all the valves replaced. Costly. What concerns me is that after fetching my vehicle the mechanic told me that the exhaust manifold is cracked and if I don't replace or have it repaired it will cause the cam belt to snap again and bend the valves. What concerns me is the truth in this as I have no problems with the car and there is definitely no noise. Is the mechanic right or looking to make a buck?

You have posted in the wrong place but that is a load of bull ... the exhaust manifold is nothing to do with the belts. I'd seriously consider if it was a good idea going back to him!

If it goes again in the next couple of years it is more likely to be poor workmanship or using old parts.
